
Aupair in Ireland

Be an aupair or Nanny in the Republic of Ireland. There's so much history and ancestry to explore and discover in The Emerald Isle. Dublin, vibrant University city of young people built along the River Liffey. Irish pubs, Guiness, the wonderful Irish accent and sense of humour. There is always a demand for aupairs and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.
EU passport holders do not require a visa to aupair in Ireland.
Age group: 18 – 29 Single people only.
Au Pair
- Requires no formal training but must have some experience in childcare. At least 200 hours.
- Work for 30 – 40 hours per week.
- Baby sit for 1/2 evenings per week.
- Duties include caring for the children, light housework relating to the children.
- Could be some sole charge.
- Should be able to drive, preferably manual.
- Have 1.5 - 2 days free.
- Earn about Euro100+ per week, live in, depending on age and experience.
- 1 week’s paid leave for every 3 months worked.
Nannies
- Must have formal childcare training. Required a minimum of a Nanny Certificate OR a Diploma in childcare OR have a nursery or pre-school teacher’s qualification OR have a minimum of two years of verifiable experience as a live-in care giver with infants and toddlers and are aged at least 20 years old OR be experienced in childcare as a group leader, teacher or nurse. They must be familiar with all aspects of childcare.
- 30+ hours per week as sole-charge responsibility for the children.
- Duties will include doing everything for the children such as cooking, bedrooms, laundry etc. Light housework could be included.
Babysitting by arrangement.- Should be able to drive, preferably manual.
- Minimum one free day and one half day free per week.
- Earn about Euro 8 per hour, live in. Pay will depend on age and experience.
Health Cover is available through the reciprocal EU National Health arrangement. It is recommended that you take your own insurance if you prefer to see a private Doctor. The aupair is responsible for their own travel arrangements and costs.
The Irish program is not a controlled program so rates of pay are market driven. Family requirements and what rate of pay is offered will differ in each position.
