Aupair in Finland
You do not have to speak Finnish to be an au pair in Finland. This is where Santa and Mrs Claus and their elves live throughout the year making toys for Christmas. Here you will find a Sauna in every home as taking a Sauna is a way of life for the Finns. Helsinki is the capital city but there are so many oher wonderful places to visit. Good and varied cuisine and wonderful peace and nature-loving people await you.
There is always a demand for native English speaking au pairs. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the online JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.
Age group: 18 – 30 Single females only.
Holders of an EU Passport do not need a visa.
12 month placements all year round.
Summer aupair placement mid June – mid September only. Cut off date for completed applications, end March.
Completed year 10 or higher.
Minimum 50 hours but 200 hours is preferred, of baby sitting, care of younger family members or working with youth organisations.
A driving licence is preferred but not essential as there will be some families who will not require a driver. Finnish families do not pay airfares.
AUPAIR
- Work for 30 hours per week
- Light housework which could include, cooking, laundry, shopping, gardening and childcare which could include everything for a child from babies upward
- Baby sit for 2 evenings per week
Minimum of 1 day free per week- Provided with own room
- Host family pays for language course
- Host family provides health insurance cover for working hours only
- Earn Euro 250 per month
- 2 weeks paid leave per 12 months
Families are looking for mother tongue English speakers so that their children can learn to speak English as a living language.
You should make sure that you take your EHIC card with you so as to use the national health scheme if necessary.
The amount paid to you is pocket money and should be accepted as that. It is suggested that should you wish to travel in Europe, you take additional money with you or a credit card.
